MONKEY BAY WILDLIFE SANCTUARY Monkey Bay is an environmental education facility located within a 3300 acre protected area that serves as a biological corridor across the Sibun Watershed. The facility is designed to host study groups interested in natural history and environmental conservation. Infrastructure includes a field research station with classroom, library and teacher housing, a student dormitory, private camping cabanas, full dining facilities, gardens and support systems for mobile field courses and village homestays. Click HERE for more information. MATT MILLER ![]() Matthew Miller is co-founder of Monkey Bay Wildlife Sanctuary where he resides with his family. Since 1987, he has worked in Belize with several community based organizations, NGOs and academic institutions. Most recently, Matt served as the academic director for the School for International Training college semester abroad study program to Belize. Matt's training in horticulture, environmental studies, regional planning and appropriate technology for development contribute to the course participant's understanding of earth/human relationships affecting watershed consciousness and natural resource management in Belize. ED BOLES ![]() Ed Boles grew up in the lateral headwaters of the Pearl River Watershed in central Mississippi. He has been working in the environmental field for the past twenty years in both government and non-government positions, has been teaching watershed field courses in Belize since 1992 and has been a permanent resident since 1987. He is currently finishing a doctorate at Jackson State University, Jackson Mississippi in Environmental Science with an emphasis in watershed ecology.
